750ml of II Palms Vodka (1 qt)
1 vanilla bean
1 Pie Pumpkin or Banana Squash
1/2 of a whole nutmeg
1 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract


  1. Cut 1 vanilla bean in half lengthwise
  2. With vegetable peeler shave 12 thin ribbons (4 to 6 in. long and about 1 in. wide) off a rinsed piece of pumpkin or banana squash
  3. Combine 1 bottle (750 ml / 1 qt) II Palms Vodka, vanilla bean, pumpkin ribbons, and 1/2 of a whole nutmeg into 1 t0 1 1/2 qt jar with airtight lid
  4. Store sealed container for 3-4 days (up to 3 month – flavors intensify the longer it infuses)
  5. After 3-4 days filter out ingredients and return infused vodka into container
  6. Prepare vanilla simple syrup (bring 1 cup water to boil, add 1 cup sugar, remove from heat once sugar dissolves, add 1 tsp vanilla extract, cool to room temp)
  7. Add 1 tsp of simple syrup to every 1 1/2 oz of infused vodka (adjust to taste) over ice and stir
  8. Pour chilled vodka into Cosmopolitan, or Rocks, glass
  9. Garnish with shaved pumpkin ribbon
